On June 12, 2026, in Canada, the Cuirassier Technology barrier successfully completed the physical performance tests conducted at the NRC (National Research Council Canada), as part of the FM evaluation process and in accordance with the ANSI/FM 2510 standard, specifically dedicated to flood protection barriers.

These tests evaluated the barrier’s performance under various controlled hydraulic conditions, including water pressure, waves, flow, overtopping, and impacts from floating debris.

The physical tests confirmed the barrier’s watertightness up to a water depth of 85 cm, in accordance with the criteria set out in the FM 2510 standard.

The Cuirassier Technology barrier is not yet FM Approved. The evaluation process is ongoing, with the additional steps required under the assessment procedure, including work on material durability, auditing, and the finalization of the technical documentation.

Why the FM 2510 Standard?

Cuirassier Technology chose to have its barrier evaluated under the ANSI/FM 2510 standard, which is specifically dedicated to the assessment of flood protection barriers.

FM operates in the field of loss prevention and risk management. Its evaluation process assesses products against defined technical requirements and performance testing criteria.

For Cuirassier Technology, this approach provides a recognized and demanding evaluation framework, complementing the research, trials and testing campaigns carried out since 2016.

The objective is to obtain, upon completion of the process, an independent assessment that will enable businesses, local authorities, insurers, engineers and risk prevention professionals to better evaluate the performance of the system.
